Salinity is read either optically, by how much the dissolved salt bends light, or electrically by conductivity. Both give a percentage you can hold a recipe or a process to.

- 0–100‰ (SG1.000–1.070), 1 (SG 0.001) increments (MASTER-S/MillM)
Key Features
- Optical models need no power and no calibration beyond a zero on distilled water
- Digital models read hot liquid directly and hold the number on screen
- Reading is temperature-sensitive — ATC models correct for it
