Description
Sensor is a consumable. The sensor is user- or service-replaceable and has its own service life, typically about two years. Budget for replacement sensors as a running cost.
Bump test before every use. Expose the instrument to a known test gas and confirm it alarms. Calibrate at the maker's stated interval. A detector that has not been bump tested is not evidence that an atmosphere is safe, and no gas detector replaces a confined-space entry procedure.
