Description
Select range and graduation together: a fine-graduation indicator usually has a short travel, so check that it covers your tolerance before ordering.
PEACOCK Vertical Dial Indicator
A vertical dial indicator is a dial gauge with the plunger moving vertically relative to the dial face, which makes it convenient on surface plates, height stands and comparator fixtures. It is used for flatness, thickness and runout comparison checks.
Key Features
- Compares a part against a reference, reading deviation rather than the absolute size
- Larger range gives more travel but a coarser reading; finer graduation reads smaller differences
- Mount firmly in a stand or fixture and keep the plunger perpendicular to the surface
- Avoid side loads on the plunger and never oil the spindle heavily
