Description
Know the limits of the clamp method: it cannot test a single isolated electrode, since it needs a complete return path through other earths.
KYORITSU Digital Earth Clamp Resistance Tester
A clamp-type earth resistance tester measures the resistance of a grounding loop by clamping around the earth conductor, so there is no need to drive auxiliary spikes or disconnect the electrode. Electricians and inspectors use it for fast periodic checks of grounding in buildings, utility poles and plants.
Key Features
- No auxiliary spikes are needed, so testing is quick
- Works only where the earth forms a closed loop
- Clamp jaws must be clean and closed for stable readings
