KCC Gypsum Board

The KCC gypsum board is made by mixing by-product gypsum and FGD(Flue Gas Desulfurization) gypsum with water and then forming this mixture into board shapes using paper coating. It comprises of a crystallized gypsum core covered in two layers of paper and satisfies the key interior performance requirements of incombustibility, insulation, and soundproofing. In addition, various dry processing methods are applied to lower installation costs and KCC-exclusive CD(Controlled Density) technology makes our board perfectly suited for application in the modulation and weight-saving trends of today's modern buildings, and also has high economic efficiency.
KCC gypsum board boasts a variety of popular GB-R (Regular Gypsum Board), Perforated Sound Absorption Board used for areas in need of sound absorption, Waterproof Gypsum Board that is used for humid places including bathrooms and kitchens, Fireproof Gypsum Board for fire-resistant and soundproof structures, Antibacterial Gypsum Board that deters propagation and proliferation of mildew, High Waterproof Gypsum Board with high waterproof and mold-resistance capabilities, multifunctional Fireproof & Waterproof Gypsum Boards, Soundproof Gypsum Board, and High-Impact Gypsum Board, and High Impact & Waterproof Gypsum Board. We will sustain to develop and produce new and multi-functional gypsum boards necessary to our customers.

 

Antibacterial Gypsum Board

The KCC Antibacterial Gypsum Board can be installed without the need for additional processing, such as a protective vinyl coating or antibacterial coating, against mildew that can form along the walls after applying mortar on the floor. It is also a highly economical and multifunctional product capable of shortening installation times and lowering the material and labor costs.

Applications

Base structures including walls and ceilings, core for metallic panels, non-bearing drywalls, etc.

  • Properties including Flexural Failure Load, Moisture Content, Fire Retardancy, Insulation Performance are identical to the KS F 3504 Regular Gypsum Board.
  • Refer to KS F 3504 for the degree of error in product dimensions.

Test conditions
  • 5 types of fungal strains were cultivated for 4 weeks at a temperature (28~30°) and relative humidity (85% or above).
  • Tested according to ASTM G21-15.

    • Aspergilus brasilensis ATCC 9642
    • Talaromyces pinophilus ATCC 11797
    • Chaetomium globosum ATCC 6205
    • Trichoderma virens ATCC 9645
    • Aureobasidium pullulans ATCC 15233
Installation Precautions
  • Apply a wallpaper only after the board has thoroughly dried (measured using a surface moisture gauge: 10% to 20%, 3 to 4 months after the mortar application).
    If the board has not thoroughly dried or wallpaper needs to be applied prior to the prescribed duration, apply around a 20 ㎛-thick oil-based varnish clear coat (KCC UV 404-9000) from the bottom to 10cm from the non-dried section.
  • Use preservative-added wheat flour glue for the application of wallpaper and avoid using deteriorated glue.
  • If the temperature and relative humidity are sustained at 30 ℃ and 85 % or above, respectively, the function may be lost if absorption-preventing measures are not taken.
