What it does
A check valve holds pressure on one side of a circuit when the supply drops. On a vertical cylinder it stops the load falling when air is lost; on a branched line it stops one station bleeding air back into another when that branch exhausts.
Typical use
Vertical axes that must hold position on supply failure, air tank and receiver lines, and any branch that must not lose air to a neighbouring circuit.
