SMC AV3000-F03-5DZB-A — AV3000-A series soft start-up valve with 3/8" ports. Admits air gradually when a machine is repressurised, then switches to full flow once the circuit is up to pressure.

What it prevents
When air is restored to a machine that has been shut down, every cylinder repressurises at once. Whatever was left mid-stroke slams to its end position, and anything resting against a stop jumps. A soft start-up valve fills the circuit slowly until the set pressure is reached, then opens fully — so the machine comes back under control rather than all at once. It is the standard companion to a lockout valve on the air inlet.
Features of the A generation
- Flow capacity up to 2.3 times the previous model, so the valve is no longer the restriction once it opens
- Zero air flow when the main valve switches over — the transition itself no longer wastes air
- Better adjustment sensitivity during the slow fill stage, so the ramp can be tuned finely
- Silencer built into the body, saving the space and the fitting a separate one would need
Typical use
Machine air inlets, downstream of the lockout valve, on any equipment where an uncontrolled repressurisation would move a mechanism.
