Long stroke on a compact body
At 120 mm this is the long stroke variant of the series, and the reason it exists is that a tie-rod cylinder of the same bore and stroke would be far longer overall. What you give up is rod support — at this extension a side load is carried by a rod bearing that was designed for short travel, so an offset load needs a guide or a floating joint rather than being hung straight off the rod.
Why the rubber bumper version
A compact cylinder has no air cushion, and at 120 mm the piston arrives at the end cover with real momentum. The bumpers absorb that impact, cut the knock at each stroke end and extend the life of the cylinder.
