The longest stroke in this bore
At 180 mm the rod extends far beyond what the internal bearing was designed to support. Keep the load strictly on the cylinder axis — a floating joint at the rod end, and an external guide if there is any offset. Where the load cannot be aligned, a guided cylinder such as the MGP series is the right answer rather than a longer compact cylinder.
Why the rubber bumper version
A compact cylinder has no air cushion. Over 180 mm the piston reaches full speed well before the end cover, so the bumpers are doing real work at every cycle.
