Description
SMC CU32-70A — CU series free mount cylinder, ø32 bore with 70 mm stroke, with air cushions at both ends. The body can be bolted directly from several faces, so no mounting bracket is needed.

Free mounting
Most cylinders need a foot, flange or clevis bracket, and that bracket adds length and cost and has to be ordered separately. The CU body carries tapped holes on several faces, so it bolts straight onto whichever surface the machine offers. On a retrofit into an existing frame that usually decides whether the cylinder fits at all.
Air cushion
At 70 mm of stroke the piston arrives at the end cover with real momentum. The air cushion decelerates it over the last few millimetres instead of letting it hit, which cuts the knock at each cycle and extends the life of the cylinder. On a rubber bumper cylinder the impact is absorbed rather than avoided, so for repeated high-speed work the air cushion is the better choice.

Transfer, pushing and gate work inside machine frames where there is no room for a bracket.
