Description
SMC IR2010-02BG-A — IR2000-A series precision regulator, 1/4" port with round gauge and bracket. Holds a set pressure to within 0.2% of full span, which is what makes it suitable for tension and contact pressure control rather than general air preparation.

Where a precision regulator is needed
A standard regulator drifts as flow changes and as the supply moves — good enough for driving cylinders, not for setting a force. A precision regulator holds the outlet within a fraction of a percent, which is what web tension and contact pressure control require: the pressure is the process variable, not just the power supply.
What the A generation changed
- Air consumption reduced by up to 90% against the previous design — a precision regulator bleeds continuously to hold its setting, so on a machine with several of them this is a real saving on the compressor
- Flow capacity up to twice the previous model, so one unit may cover a duty that used to need the next size up
- Mass reduced by up to 27%
Replacing an IR2010-02BG
The -A series replaces the original IR1000/2000/3000, discontinued in April 2017. Sensitivity and repeatability are unchanged, so the control behaviour carries over; dimensions should still be checked against the drawing before ordering.
