Description
SMC JB25-6-100 — JB series floating joint, sized for ø25 compact cylinders. It absorbs shaft misalignment and out-of-parallel mounting between the rod and the driven part, so the two do not have to be aligned during installation.

What it does
A cylinder rod is made to take axial load, not side load. When the rod and the driven part are even slightly off centre or out of parallel, every stroke pushes the rod sideways, which wears the rod seal and the bushing and eventually bends the rod. A floating joint takes that movement in the joint instead, and removes the alignment work at installation.
Typical use
Fitted at the rod end of compact cylinders driving slides, gates and jigs — anywhere the cylinder and the load cannot be aligned precisely, or where the load position shifts during the stroke.
