Force and rod loading at 350 mm
A ø80 bore gives roughly 3,000 N at 0.6 MPa. Extended 350 mm, that force is applied at the end of a rod carrying its own weight as well as the load, so buckling has to be checked against the stroke and not just the thrust. Where the load is offset at all, a guide or a floating joint at the rod end is the difference between a cylinder that lasts and one that wears its rod seal out in a season.
Foot mounting
Foot brackets bolt the body to a surface parallel to its axis, which suits a cylinder lying along a frame member. The thrust line sits off the bolt plane, so the bolts see a moment as well as shear — size them against the thrust rather than assuming.
What changed in the Z generation
Reshaped covers cut up to 10% from the mass of the previous design, with no change to the mounting dimensions, so a Z cylinder drops into an installation built for the older series.

Order by the full code MBL80-350Z. Bore, stroke and mounting are in the code, and rod end fittings and pivot brackets can be added as suffixes. The 250 mm stroke (MBL80-250Z) is available in the same configuration.
