SMC ZP3E-T50BMNJB50 — ZP3E series high rigidity vacuum pad, ø50 bellows type with lip and groove, mounted on a 50 mm buffer. The bellows absorbs height differences while the lip and groove hold the workpiece steady once it is gripped.

What the bellows and buffer each do
The bellows lets the pad tilt and compress to meet a surface that is not level, which is what makes it work on stacked or uneven parts. The buffer is a sprung shaft behind the pad that absorbs the approach — the head can descend past the contact point without driving the pad into the work. On a stack where the top surface drops as parts are removed, the 50 mm buffer covers that change without re-teaching the height.
Lip and groove
A plain bellows pad can rock under acceleration. The lip seals against the surface and the groove adds stiffness across the face, so the part stays square to the head when the axis moves — which is the difference between placing a part accurately and dropping it.
